Everest Re counts on new top actuary

Industry veteran David Harris has joined Bermudian-based Everest Re Group Ltd as senior vice-president, chief reserving actuary, succeeding Ellen Edmonds.
He will report to Everest Group chief operating officer and head of reinsurance Jim Williamson, and will be based in New Jersey.
In his role, the company said, Mr Harris will lead Everest’s global reserving strategy, aligning the company’s disciplined pricing, reserving and underwriting functions with its long-term objectives.
Mr Harris has more than 25 years of experience leading global and domestic reserving and actuarial teams at top reinsurance and insurance companies, Everest said.
Most recently, he served as senior vice-president and chief reserving actuary at SCOR Reinsurance Company.
