Warwick students celebrate first in-person graduation since 2019
Warwick Academy last week celebrated its first in-person graduation ceremony in two years with 56 students being recognised.
Sophia Banner, who has received a conditional offer at Oxford University in England to study archaeology, was named the class valedictorian.
She said in her speech that she and her fellow classmates were excited to have completed their studies at Warwick Academy in a “close to normal” term after disruptions caused by Covid-19.
Governor Rena Lalgie served as the guest speaker at the event, held on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the school said this year’s graduates are heading off to a wide range of universities across Canada, the United States and England.
“We wish them all the very best as they head off in the next stage of their lives and hope that their time with us holds fond memories that will last a lifetime,” she added.
