Minister calls on more people to become foster parents

More than 40 foster parents were treated to an appreciation tea held at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club.
The Ministry of Social Development and Seniors joined the Department of Child Development to host the event on May 22 recognising the parents for their role in supporting children in Bermuda’s foster care system.
Tinee Furbert, the Minister of Social Development and Seniors, said: “Although Foster Care Month ended on May 31, the Department of Child and Family Services will continue to encourage families to consider assisting a foster child.
“With 65 children in foster care, the department calls upon individuals to open their hearts and home.”
