City of Hamilton staff enjoyed a mini health fair today at the official launch of an employee wellness programme.

The event took place at Laffan Street car park and gave employees the chance to interact with health and fitness vendors, set personal health goals and learn about resources available to them.

There were also interactive activities for staff, including health trivia with prizes and healthy fruit basket giveaways.

City CEO Dwayne Caines said: “The health of our staff is of the utmost importance to us which is why we felt the employee wellness programme to be a crucial component of the organisation’s structure.”

He said a survey carried out by the city in 2019 allowed it to tailor a wellness programme to staff needs.

Mr Caines added: “The results have also helped us to create a strategy forward, spearheaded by our recently formed employee wellness committee, comprised of city staff members working. with our health insurer, BF&M Insurance Group.”
