Male driver suffers head injuries in early-morning crash
A 20-year-old man is in hospital with head injuries after a serious single-vehicle crash early today on Harrington Sound Road.
A police spokesman said that the driver was found unresponsive in an “extensively damaged” car, after apparently losing control just east of Harrington Sound Primary School in Smith’s at about 3.40am.
The driver appeared to have been negotiating a turn while headed west when he crashed.
The man was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
Traffic investigators with forensic support assessed the scene. The road was closed for about three hours.
