BSX owner wins patent case against Nasdaq
Miami International Holdings Inc, the parent holding company of the Bermuda Stock Exchange, has won a patent case against Nasdaq.
MIH said that the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey has entered a stipulation and order in Nasdaq Inc et al v. Miami International Holdings Inc et al, dismissing with prejudice all the six patent infringement claims asserted by Nasdaq against MIH and its affiliates.
The order was signed on June 30 by Zahid N. Quraishi, United States district court judge for the district of New Jersey.
MIH said the order was entered after it obtained determinations before the patent trial and appeal board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office to invalidate all the Nasdaq patents asserted against the company.
MIH is the holding company for Miami International Securities Exchange LLC, Miax Pearl LLC, Miax Emerald LLC and Minneapolis Grain Exchange LLC as well as the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
