Real estate professionals received awards during a ceremony at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club Wednesday to recognise professional services team members of the Bermuda Realty Company Limited and top sales and rental agents of Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty.

Angela Hanwell was recognised as the top sales and rental agent for Coldwell Banker, followed by veteran standout Fiona Hatfield and Adam Birch.

Long-serving David Kuhn and Lamar Richardson were honoured for professional services at Bermuda Realty Company Limited.

Professional services manager Paul Matthews said: “It’s particularly gratifying to recognise senior land surveyor David Kuhn, who has been with the company for 41 years, who won the professional services department highest revenue award and also Lamar Richardson, who has been with Bermuda Realty for eight years, but recently moved into the land survey team and won the professional services department revenue growth award.”

Susan Thompson, agency manager, said: “I am so proud and happy for Angela. She has worked hard to win this award and wanted it so badly. It is heart-warming to see someone’s dreams become reality. Congratulations, Angela!”

Ms Hanwell accepted the top agent award after working 17 years in various areas of the industry.

She said: “Over the past year, the sales and rental markets have been difficult to navigate for everyone. Adjusting the way we market properties and negotiate offers was key to successful sales and rentals. I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me and encouraged me. This award is a reflection of that and a great achievement.”

Fiona Hatfield, who has been the top agent more times in her career than any other agent in the company, said: “After 36 years of being a real estate agent, I still have not lost the passion.”

Mr Birch was the top real estate agent for the past fiscal year and also was the top real estate agent for the Coldwell Banker corporate awards for the 2021 calendar year with the International President’s Elite award.

Only 3 per cent of all sales representatives out of the more than 100,000 agents worldwide win the President’s Elite award.

Mr Birch said: “I am truly honoured to be recognised along with my fellow colleagues. As always, my focus is to provide the best service as possible and the most rewarding part of this career is creating and maintaining new relationships with customers and clients. I am surrounded by a dedicated team who are solution-oriented and always have my back. It’s really rewarding. All of this support helps me constantly hit my goals and more.”

Brian Madeiros, president and CEO of Bermuda Realty Company Limited, said: “Although individual awards have been bestowed to designated team members this morning, it is the authentic team synergy which has continued to provide significant value to our market and I’d be remiss not to thank each and every team member personally for how you show up every day and how you engage with our customers and clients. I appreciate your support and look forward to continued personal and business growth as we evolve into the latter part 2022 and beyond.”
