PR advisor to run social media online course for small businesses
Small business owners seeking to learn how to efficiently use social media in minutes a day to attract new clients or customers are invited to attend a workshop on the topic.
Social Media for Small Biz will be presented virtually next Wednesday by Mikaela Ian Pearman, who is the CEO of Mikaela Ian PR.
Ms Pearman said she offers PR and social media services to her clients, but recognises that a lot of small business owners can’t afford to hire someone to manage their social media.
She ran the training in July for the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.
Ms Pearman said: “I truly believe that in 2022, small businesses must have a grasp on social media. There is so much money to be made by using social media.
“I know many women who have started businesses online and now run them full time as a result of using social media effectively to attract new clients.
“If you aren't maximising social media, you're missing out on a whole new set of potential customers.”
The training will cover a variety of topics:
•An overview of the most popular social media apps
•Why social media is essential for your business
•How to create a simple but effective social media strategy
•How to get started on your app of choice
•What you should be posting and how often
•How to use the power of video on social media
Ms Pearman said: “I would encourage anyone who runs a business and would like to be more present on social media to attend this training.
“I know what it's like to struggle with social media and get overwhelmed. My goal with this training is to make it more approachable and easier for business owners to execute on their own.”
She added: “There will be no fluff. This training will be full of value and is designed so that attendees can implement it immediately.
“By the end of this training, participants will have a better understanding of social media, how to use it effectively for their business and a simple strategy to get started.”
The 90-minute session is being held virtually next Wednesday at 6.30pm. The cost is $199.
Registrants will receive a link to the Zoom room.
