MGA appoints new chief claims officer
Arcadian Risk Capital Ltd, the Bermudian-based managing general agent, has appointed Chen Foley as chief claims officer.
Mr Foley will be charged with managing all aspects of the Arcadian group claims function, ensuring consistent delivery of services in line with the company’s strategic direction and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
A qualified lawyer, Mr Foley was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2001 and to the Bar of Bermuda in 2002.
The company said he is a high-performing and driven insurance professional with 20 years of related experience in the Bermuda and London insurance/reinsurance markets as a claims manager, claims adjuster and coverage counsel.
It added that he has hands-on experience providing counsel in relation to claims-handling strategies, advising on and representing markets in coverage disputes as well as defending insureds.
Before joining Arcadian, Mr Foley served Liberty Specialty Markets Agency Limited for more than six years, latterly as head of Bermuda claims and before that as vice-president claims manager and coverage counsel.
John Boylan, chief executive officer of Arcadian, said: “We are delighted to welcome an individual of Chen’s calibre, with cross-functional expertise in claims management and provision of counsel.
“Under his leadership, we are confident that our claims function will continue to meet the service, support, and prompt turnaround times our clients value.”
Mr Foley said: “I am very excited by the opportunity to work with this highly experienced team. Arcadian is a dynamic company.
“I look forward to building out our claims proposition and underlining the firm’s ever-growing position as an innovative and service-oriented business partner.”
