BHS students celebrating ‘outstanding’ I/GCSE results
A private school is celebrating outstanding exam results with almost all students getting grades A* to C in recent I/GCSE exams.
Bermuda High School for Girls said 97 per cent of all I/GCSE grades awarded to BHS students this year were A* to C or the equivalent.
It said the percentage of A* and A grades, or Levels 9 to 7, awarded to BHS girls was 59 per cent — well above the 26 per cent achieved by all students in Britain.
Linda Parker, the head of the school, said: “Our I/GCSE students have achieved outstanding results and we are so proud of all of them for their hard work.
“This was the first cohort to sit exams since 2019, and despite the disruptions Covid-19 brought to their studies over two years, they rose to the challenge.”
She added: “Each of them showed determination to do their best and they should be very pleased with their well-deserved results.
“I thank our supportive and hardworking teachers for their unwavering commitment and dedication to helping our students reach their highest potential.”
Bethany Cooze got the highest score with four A*/A grades and five Level 9 grades, which sits above an A*.
Lily Cornes and Maile Dalene both received four A*/A grades and five grades at Levels 9, 8 and 7.
Ameera Gilbert and Eliana Kirkos received five A*/A grades and four grades at Levels 8 and 7, while Elodie Manning received six A*/A grades and four grades at Levels 9 and 8.
Kate Marcotte received four A*/A grades and five Level 9 grades, while Grace McFadden had five A*/A grades and four Level 9 grades.
