No reports of drug disguised as candy but police urge caution

Police asked residents to be “vigilant” about receiving candy, especially during Hallowe’en celebrations.
The caution came after a social media message that claimed a lethally strong opiate was being passed off as sweets.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: “With Hallowe’en fast approaching, the BPS is aware of information circulating on social media stating that ‘Fentanyl is being packaged as Skittles and Nerds’ candy.
“However, there have been no instances locally reported to the BPS.
“Nonetheless, members of the public – particularly those that celebrate Hallowe’en – are reminded to remain vigilant regarding any candy they may receive.”
