A man who pleaded guilty to driving his motorcycle without due care and attention was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

Nicholas Moulder, 30, from Pembroke, admitted to the offence in Magistrates’ Court yesterday. The incident occurred on March 27, 2021.

Adley Duncan, for the Crown, told the court that the victim in this case, who was not named in court, was riding a bicycle on North Shore Road in Smith’s and intended to make a turn on to the Railway Trail.

Moulder tried to overtake the victim in the eastbound lane, resulting in a collision.

Both Moulder and the victim sustained injuries from the accident and the damages to the victim’s bicycle surpassed $700.

In addition to the fine, magistrate Tyrone Chin added ten points to Moulder’s licence.
