Warwick Academy win Primary School six-a-side tournament
Warwick Academy won the Primary School A six a side tournament after overcoming Mount Saint Agnes Academy in a penalty shootout after neither team could find the back of the net in scoreless final.
Warwick applied pressure during the second half to go in search of the winner but were held at bay with some spectacular spectacular goalkeeping from Tayte Browne in the Saints goal.
Browne’s heroics were a feature of the competition as in the semi-final he kept a clean sheet against pool B winners Purvis Primary, who had scored freely unti coming up against the in-form shot-stopper.
Mount Saint Agnes eventually prevailed 5-4 in that penalty shootout after nine kicks from each team. Sami Luber scored a last-minute semi-final winner to send Pool A winners Warwick Academy to the final against Harrington Sound Primary.
