Saltus boys match the girls with Middle School volleyball win
Saltus Red defeated Saltus White in the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Boys volleyball tournament to emulate the win of the girls team earlier this week.
Both teams exchanged early points with neither gaining much advantage throughout the final.
Saltus White’s Jack Adams gave Saltus Reds a scare with five straight serves to give the underdogs a 22-19 lead but Charlie Szakmary brought the Reds back into the match with a run of great serves. The whites then tied to make it 23-23 before Andrew Stegman finished off the Whites with an ace and then found an open spot to give the Reds a 25-23 win.
Both finalists got by the two Mount Saint Agnes teams 25-21 in the semi-finals. Adams again led the whites in their semi-final win over Mount Saint Agnes Gold. Ciaran Sinclair had three straight aces to finally give Saltus Red an advantage over Mount Saint Agnes Blues after the teams were tied 21-21
