Bumper night of action on day four of Bermuda Squash Club Championships
A bumper evening of action took place on the courts last night with more than 30 matches played in the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association’s Club Championships.
One player who had it easy though was Anaya Smith, who benefited from the withdrawal of John Fletcher to progress in the Men’s A competition alongside Noah Browne.
The matches were a lot tighter in the Men’s A Classic Plate with Stephen Smith and Armin se Weerdt overcoming Korin Knights and Brendan Fourie respectively.
Andrew Cox and Malcolm Woodley were straight-sets winners in the Men’s B division with the Men’s B Classic Plate matches turning out to be thrillers with Daniel Ringer and Aleem Qureshi both coming out on top in five-set epics against Jeff Infleman and Shane McDonnell.
Owen Rosorea was taken the distance by Geoff Law in the Men’s C Division, winning 11-6 in the deciding set but Kevin Gillespie had things far easier in the Mens C Classic Plate when coming through in straight sets.
In the men’s over-40 competition, Anthony Fellows and James Hubbard Progressed, with the latter getting a walkover. Jan Brewer and Anthony White both prevailed in the over-50 competition. Ken Randall and Colin Alexander were successful in the over-60 division.
