Carolling schoolchildren will spread holiday cheer at Skyport to celebrate the company’s second year anniversary and the end of Covid-19 restrictions.

Carolers first made their appearance around lunchtime on December 1 in the LF Wade airport’s departure lounge.

Nikki Fagan, Skyport’s head of brand development and communications, said: “The LF Wade Airport is the primary gateway between our community and the rest of the world.

“While it is easy to focus simply on our international links, nurturing our community connections is a vital part of our organisation mandate.

“Our community has responded positively to our invitations to infuse the departure experience with a little local holiday flavour.”

Carolers since the start of the year came from CedarBridge Academy, Dalton B Middle School, Saltus, Clearwater Middle School and West End Primary School, as well at the Bermuda High School for Girls’ BHS Tiny Rebels.

Bermuda Institute, the BHS Glee Club, Warwick Academy, Mount Saint Agnes Academy, Paget Primary School, Harrington Sound Primary School, Somersfield Academy and Purvis Primary School will also perform later in the month.

Ms Fagan said that the choirs were “a heart-warming way to invite the spirit and joy of the Christmas season” after almost three years of restricted gathering because of the pandemic.

She added that passer-bys had been “surprised and delighted” by the youngsters’ performances.

Whistling Rum Bar & Grill has also joined in the festivities by airing the 2022 Fifa World Cup every day.
