Christmas cheer abounds in the Red Cross Jingle Bell 5k

Shannon Lawrence showed younger runners a clean pair of heels as he won the Jingle Bell 5k open and masters categories in a time of 17:54 yesterday.
The 45-year-old beat Philip Woollins, 32, (18:24) to the line in the seasonal race, while Colin Young, 25, was third in a time of 18:38.
The first woman to finish was Gayle Lindsay, who was sixth overall in a time of 19:31, while 14-year-old Braxton Cooze was ninth in a time of 20:00.
Also competing in the race was Olympic, Commonwealth Games and world triathlon champion Dame Flora Duffy who was running with her husband, triathlete Dan Hugo, who were taking a short break in Bermuda. They finished 37th and 39th respectively.
