Man fined and banned from roads after pleading guilty to driving dangerously
A man who tried to evade police officers on his bike was today banned from the roads for 18 months.
Philip Mallory, 26, from Pembroke, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to speeding at 74km/h and driving dangerously.
Prosecutor Cindy Clarke said that officers saw Mallory speeding on Frog Lane, Devonshire, on February 3. He suddenly made a U-turn and went on to Old Military Road.
Mallory ignored police when they tried to stop him, continued to drive recklessly and disobeyed two stop signs on Cedar Bridge Lane, but eventually stopped.
In addition to being banned, Mallory was fined $1,000.
