Aspen, the re/insurer based in Bermuda, has appointed Nick Acker as head of US distribution.

Mr Acker, who will be based in Chicago, started his role in December.

He joins Aspen from Arch Insurance Group, where he has spent the last ten years during which he served in various senior distribution roles, most recently as vice-president, wholesale and distribution management.

The company said Mr Acker has extensive experience of driving growth through the leading US wholesale brokers across a variety of product lines.

In his new role, he will be responsible for developing Aspen’s relationships with broking partners within the US.
