Christopher Famous appointed board chairman at BHC

The government MP Christopher Famous has been appointed as the new board chairman at the Bermuda Housing Corporation.

Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch, the Minister of Public Works, made the announcement on the Official Gazette along with 11 other appointments.

Mr Famous, who is the MP for Devonshire East, takes over the position from Vance Campbell, the Minister of Tourism.

A longtime employee of Belco, Mr Famous is also a business owner and Royal Gazette columnist. He serves on the Government’s Comprehensive Immigration Reform Committee and the Stamp Advisory Committee.

Other BHC appointments include Major Leslie Lowe as deputy chairman. Appointed directors are: Kinika Armstrong, April Augustus, Trina Bean, Zayne Bean, Lakila Bell, Komlah Foggo-Wilson, Lauren Hayward-Bell, Hugo Pereira, N. Koshea Scott-Millett, Jamali Smith and Juan Smith.

The BHC’s mandate and legislative authority is to provide affordable and quality housing, and to promote home ownership.
