A quarterly night out for doctors to hear about the latest developments in medicine has returned after a hiatus brought about by Covid-19.

Docs for Dinner, which is sponsored by Bermuda Healthcare Services and Brown-Darrell Clinic, is set for February 16 at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.

The upcoming instalment will feature a guest speaker on diagnostic imaging.

The programme began in 2008 in affiliation with the Lahey Clinic based in Massachusetts.

The gatherings link local physicians with visiting professionals to hear new ideas and boost the island’s medical community.

Ewart Brown, the former premier and founder and chairman of BHCS, said the clinic was “extremely excited” to renew the programme after “a long pandemic-enforced break".

"We are particularly happy to have our good friend Dr Christophe Wald, chair of the department of radiology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Centre, in attendance.

“Dr Wald is considered one of the world's foremost authorities in diagnostic imaging."

The dinner was said to be the island’s only such event, and has drawn thanks from physicians for the chance to meet peers in an educational setting.

Registration and cocktails will begin at 6.30pm, with dinner to start an hour later.
