Three new permanent secretaries announced

The Cabinet building. Three new permanent secretaries have been announced

Three civil servants have been announced as permanent secretaries by Derrick Binns, the Head of the Public Service.

All had been serving in an acting capacity for “extended periods”, he said. Their posts were made effective today.

Jasmin Smith is Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education, while Gina Hurst-Maybury is Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Constitutional Reform, and Shivon Washington-Jones is Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Transport

Ms Smith and Ms Washington-Jones were moved to their present ministries in October as part of a string of reassignments to develop the Public Service, while Ms Hurst-Maybury has held a longstanding post with Legal Affairs.
