March flight schedule shows slight changes

The return of United Airlines service to Newark is the highlight of the March flight schedule, posted online recently by Skyport.

The daily service is scheduled to resume on March 26.

The flight schedule for the month largely mirrors the schedule for this month, with the exception of the Newark flight and a slight increase in British Airways flights in the first half of the month.

In addition to maintaining its four flights per week, the airline will add an add a Tuesday flight to it’s schedule on March 28.

While American Airlines has announced that it will halt its daily service to Miami for the summer season, that flight is included in the March schedule, along with daily flights to New York and Charlotte on the airline.

Delta will continue to offer regular flights to New York and Atlanta, while both WestJet and Air Canada will continue to offer two weekly flights to Toronto.

Earlier this month Wayne Furbert, the Minister of Transport, blamed a lack of hotel beds for cuts in air service to the island, including the suspension of the Miami flight and the lack of a direct service to Boston.

However, he said that JetBlue would resume daily seasonal service to LaGuardia in May and WestJet was expected to bolster service to Canada.

· Since this story was originally published, Skyport has published an updated flight schedule showing an increase in British Airways flights, compared to the earlier schedule which showed a decrease in the first half of the month. This story has been amended to reflect this change.
