Bermuda’s Under-17 football squad kick off their quest for a place at the World Cup tonight when they face Honduras in the round of 16 of Concacaf Championships campaign in Guatemala.

However, they face a daunting task against an opposition who come into the encounter off the back of unbeaten run in their group beating Surinam 6-1, El Salvador 4-1 and Haiti 1-0, to set up the tie with Cecoy Robinson’s side.

Victory would see Bermuda advance through to the quarter-finals, which are scheduled to take place on Tuesdays and Wednesday.

Should the squad progress to the semi-finals, they will make history, becoming the first Bermudian football team of any age group to qualify for a World Cup.
