Girls under-14 volleyball team remain unbeaten at Nike Festival

Bermuda’s girls’ under-14 volleyball team made a perfect start at the Boston Nike Festival on Friday.

The talented young team won all three of their matches without dropping a set to progress in style from their round-robin league in Round 1.

A perfect record against Long Island Volleyball Club, 603 United Volleyball Club and Club Syrv mean they enter Round 2 on Saturday, when the competition will step up a notch with a further three matches.

While the Under 14s were the only Bermuda team to remain unbeaten, there were some other notable performances with the boys under-16 team, competing under the name Big Wave Riders, also finishing the first day of competition with a winning record.

The team recovered from a tough opening loss against SMASH boys to beat Sportime and NorthEast Volleyball Club in straight sets to make it into Round 2 and they will face another three games on Saturday.

The girls teams, who are taking part under the name of Paradise Hitters, also achieved success at under-12 and under-13 level with the younger team picking up a win against Meraki Volleyball and the older team picking up a win against Seaway Splash Volleyball Club.
