Three injured after multi-vehicle collision on St John’s Road
Three people were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for serious injuries after a multi-vehicle collision on Friday night.
A police spokesman said that at about 7pm, a 67-year-old man stopped his car at the junction of Berkeley Road and St John’s Road in Pembroke.
At the same time, a male motorcyclist, aged 36, overtook another vehicle as he rode east along St John’s Road.
Another motorcycle carrying a woman rider, aged 22, and a woman pillion passenger, aged 18, also approached the junction, took a right turn and came into the path of the male rider, resulting in a collision.
The male motorcyclist, who was unresponsive at one point, suffered a potentially fractured right arm and collarbone.
The woman rider suffered injuries to her right wrist and both knees, while her pillion passenger suffered a suspected broken left leg.
The car driver was unharmed.
The injured parties were taken to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries, which are not considered to be life-threatening.
Traffic diversions were put in place as the scene was processed by a traffic collision investigator.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the non-emergency number, 211, or the main police number, 295-0011.
