Hamilton invites scholarship applications
Business Staff
Hamilton Insurance Group is inviting applications for a scholarship designed to expand the skill set of young professionals considering a career in insurance and reinsurance.
The Hamilton Scholarship is valued at $25,000 a year for up to two years of undergraduate study at an accredited educational institution. The scholarship is managed by Hamilton’s community giving committee.
The award was established in 2016 to encourage more Bermudians and holders of a permanent resident’s certificate to consider a career in insurance and reinsurance, regardless of course of study, the company said.
The current Hamilton Scholar is Ciara Burrows, who is studying law at the University of Southampton in England.
The long-term goal of the Hamilton Scholarship is to create a pool of talented young people who will contribute to Bermuda’s competitiveness as a world-class international business centre, the company said.
Applications will be accepted as of December 1, with a closing date of April 3, 2020.
