Man denies importing $219,000 worth of cannabis

A Pembroke man has denied planning to import and sell more than $219,000 of cannabis.

Kanhai Armstrong, 37, pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court to charges that he conspired with others to import cannabis into the island between an unknown date and August 5, 2020.

He further denied that he conspired with others to supply cannabis during the same period.

The charges relate to 4,392.6g of cannabis, as well as an additional 1,775g of cannabis mixed with hemp.

The matter is scheduled to return to the Supreme Court on June 1.
