Deputy Commissioner of Police sworn in

Na’imah Astwood has been sworn in as Deputy Commissioner of Police in a ceremony at Government House before family and friends.
Rena Lalgie, the Governor, said her appointment came after an open and competitive recruitment process, with the post advertised locally and internationally.
She added: “The job of Deputy Commissioner of Police is an important one. I know that the scale of responsibility and accountability is not lost on Mrs Astwood.
“I believe that she will stand with the Commissioner as a firm, consistent and modern leader within the Bermuda Police Service.”
Ms Astwood said: “I am excited and look forward to leading the men and women of our organisation as we continue to serve our community, making Bermuda safer.”
