Biometrics collection sessions for Bermudians seeking Canadian visas will be available next month.

The Ministry of Economy and Labour reminded the public that specific identification criteria are mandatory for some individuals applying for Canadian visitor visas, work or study permits or permanent residency in Canada.

It is also compulsory for all international students, including Bermudian students.

Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: “Once again, I thank the Consulate General of Canada for continuing this service which allows Bermuda’s residents who have already applied online or by mail for a visa, work or study permit or for permanent residence anticipating travel to Canada to have their biometrics collected.

“I encourage all to take advantage of this opportunity to avoid the expense of travelling overseas to provide their biometric information."
