Butterfield Bank’s US-listed shares gained nine cents, or 0.27 per cent, to close at $33.58 on the New York Stock Exchange, as 109,378 shares changed hands.

The BSX Insurance Index added 11.59 points, or 0.69 per cent, to close on 1,691.15.
