Money transfer woes
Dear Sir,
Since HSBC changed the format on its internet banking site, you cannot transfer monies overseas. The transfer goes through, you are charged $15 and then it gets returned back because of the (Swift?) code being incorrect.
I have always sent overseas transfers without any issues and never have I heard of this code before. I don’t have the time to spend hours in line at the bank; hence, the convenience of internet banking.
I was told to contact the bank on the other end. I am still without a solution. I have found that many other HSBC clients have had the same problem and the problem started with the new format. The problem is with our bank here. I would like to know the story behind what’s happening. I also would like to have it fixed, so that I can finally make the transfer that should have been sent more than a month ago.
