Teenager identified as victim of fatal motorbike crash
A teenager who lost his life after a scooter crash on Tuesday morning has been named by police.
Michael Spence-Durrant, 17, was seriously injured on June 20 after the motorbike he was riding struck a concrete bench on Malabar Road, near the junction of Heydon Road in Sandys.
Mr Spence-Durrant, understood to have been a Warwick resident, was taken to the Port Royal fire station in a private car and was then rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The teenager’s death marked the ninth road fatality of 2023.
Another man, who has not yet been identified, lost his life after reportedly hitting a kerb with his scooter in St George’s, also on June 20.
Those with information about Mr Spence-Durrant’s crash, particularly anyone who may have been travelling on Malabar Road when it occurred, are encouraged to call Constable Victor Fishington at 247 1788.
