Vanessa Chychrun and Will Haddrell lead Amateur Stroke Play Championships
Will Haddrell and Vanessa Chychrun are the players to catch heading into the final round of the Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championships on Sunday.
Chychrun shot an even-par round at Port Royal in the second round on Saturday and scored a hole-in-one, the second of the tournament after Ed Frey did the same on Friday, at the 96-yard 3rd hole.
Barring a huge turnaround, she looks booked for the win with last year’s champion Ebonie Cox needing to make up eight shots to win.
Things are a lot tighter In the men’s championship as Will Haddrell is three shots clear of Jarryd Dillas after shooting 71 to go with his opening round of 68.
Dillas will hope to use his experience to close the gap on Sunday with Damian Palanyandi and Oliver Betschart also holding chances as they sit within five shots of the overnight leader.
In the senior men’s division, Rod Forrest hit his second consecutive round of 72 to take a four-shot lead into the final day over Hav Trott, while Tracy Burgess has an eight-shot margin over Linda Down in the senior women’s division.
The final round gets under way at 7.30am on Sunday.
