James Morrison and Katherine Bean-Rosario honoured at Saltus Athletic Banquet
Katherine Bean-Rosario and James Morrison picked up the main accolades at the Saltus Tenth Annual Athletic Banquet.
Bean-Rosario captured the Female Athlete of the Year Award and Morrison was presented with the Male Athlete of the Year Award for 2023.
In attendance at the gala event, which was graced by more than 110 senior school student-athletes, were former winners Liam Evans, Eva Frazzoni, Conor White, Zakiyah Durham, Tia Burrows, Tianna Mullan and Emily Cabral.
Students invited to the banque must be in years 10 through SGY2 and have represented Saltus in at least one inter-school event, with athletes addressed by principal Julie Rousseau, who presented the awards.
Besides the presentation of the Female and Male Athlete of the Year awards, there is the Senior (SGY1 and SGY2) Scholar Female and Male Student-Athlete awards and Junior (Y10 and Y11) Scholar Female and Male Student-Athlete awards. To be eligible for those, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or 85% average or higher over the course of the year.
MVP and coaches awards were also presented in all league sports and, according to banquet tradition, staff served the student-athletes at the buffet.
