Presidential appointee to deliver keynote at Captive Conference
An appointee of US President Barack Obama is to be the keynote speaker at the Bermuda Captive Conference in September.
Carla Harris, a senior client adviser at Morgan Stanley, the investment bank and financial services company, was appointed by Obama in 2013 to chair the US National Women’s Business Council.
At Morgan Stanley, Ms Harris was most recently a vice chairwoman responsible for increasing client connectivity and penetration to enhance revenue generation across the firm.
Ms Harris was the founder and creator of the award winning, Multicultural Innovation Lab at Morgan Stanley, and the award winning podcast, Access and Opportunity.
She formerly headed the Emerging Manager Platform, the equity capital markets effort for the consumer and retail industries and was responsible for Equity Private Placements.
In her 30-plus year career, Ms Harris has had extensive industry experiences in the technology, media, retail, telecommunications, transportation, industrial, and healthcare sectors.
At the conference, September 12-13 at Hamilton Princess and Beach Club, she will speak on the topic of “Intentional Leadership: How to be a Powerful, Impactful Leader in Today’s Environment”.
