Staff in the Bermuda office of Ocorian, a provider of financial services, have collected more than 300 pounds of litter and ocean debris in a beach clean-up in collaboration with Keep Bermuda Beautiful.

Eighteen Ocorian team members came together to clean Elbow Beach and its surrounding areas.

The initiative, part of Ocorian's support for KBB, aimed to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining unspoilt natural spaces and promoting sustainable practices within the community.

This marked the third occasion that Ocorian and KBB have joined forces to preserve the island's natural beauty, with previous clean-up activities taking place last year.

Ocorian said that it prides itself on empowering its employees to engage in environmental, social and governance initiatives that resonate with their personal values and create a positive impact locally.

It said that the beach clean-up was a testament to Ocorian's dedication to sustainable practices and its role as a responsible corporate citizen in Bermuda.

During the two-hour clean-up, the Ocorian team removed local litter, ocean plastics and other debris from the beach and its surrounding areas.

Traci Burgess, KBB’s executive director, said: "Thank you to Ocorian for their partnership and continuing support of KBB’s mission to reduce waste, eliminate litter and beautify the island. We appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm and contributions to the clean-ups we’ve done together over the past year.

“It's always great to work with the Ocorian team and the impact of their service to the community is amazing. KBB thanks Ocorian for leading by example with helping to keep Bermuda beautiful and demonstrating the value of preserving the beauty of our island home."

Kerri-Ann Blades, account manager at Ocorian, added: “Ocorian remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a sustainable future, both locally and globally.

“By partnering with KBB and engaging in initiatives like the recent beach clean-up, Ocorian aims to inspire and educate others about the importance of environmental preservation and collective action.”
