Jail time for woman who threatened to kill housemate

A woman who threatened to kill her former housemate has been sentenced to 30 days behind bars.

Trimea Roland, 35, admitted to threatening Karl Outerbridge, stealing his phone and breaking a bottle in a public place when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court last month.

The court heard that in June 2022, Roland, of no known address, told Mr Outerbridge, who she lived with for two years, that she “will f***ing kill” him and stole his phone when she went to his residence.

She has been in custody since admitting the charges.

Prosecutor T’Deana Spencer told the court that, because Roland has declined help with her drug addiction since being behind bars, the most appropriate sentence for the offences would be more prison time.

Agreeing with Ms Spencer, senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sentenced Roland to spend an additional month behind bars.
