Motorists warned about series of road closures this week
A series of roadworks will close some lanes this week for various work to be done, Government announced.
A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Public Works said scheduled landscaping and tree-trimming in St George will result in part of Suffering Lane being reduced to one lane of traffic until this afternoon.
This will affect Boundary Lane through to Khyber Pass, and will run from 9am to 5pm.
Representatives from the St Regis hotel will manage traffic but motorists are being urged to use alternative routes via Wellington Hill and Khyber Pass.
People can contact principal highways engineer Tina Beer-Searle at 504 3044 with any question about this closure.
This will be followed by another lane closure in Smith’s on Thursday and Friday for trenching work by One Communications.
The closure will be in effect on Harrington Sound Road, near Crest View Road.
For questions about this lane closure, contact highways design engineer Carolina Orellana-Henriquez on 501 3031.
The final lane closure will be in effect next Sunday in Paget, from Lovers Lane, up Stowe Hill to the roundabout, for sidewalk maintenance.
The closure will be from 6.30am until 2.30pm and will only affect the eastbound lane.
Drivers going into Hamilton are advised to detour via Stowe Hill during this time.
Contact Terry Lynn Thompson, from the Parks Department, at 747 1263 for questions about this closure.
