Gospel music group Last Call have launched a new record label company and are preparing to release new music.

As one might expect, the effort has kept Tricray Astwood and Adrian Jones busy “behind the scenes, building”.

“It is important to build a foundation; what we are planning and launching will probably be the biggest that anyone has ever seen in our ministry and our career,” Mr Astwood said.

“We just launched Tridan Music Group, which is our very own record company, [and through] that we should be doing a lot of business from now on. We are very excited about that.”

In Las Vegas recently, the pair recorded new music and videos, some of which were shared with audiences over the three nights they performed here in June.

Last Call partnered with three churches for Glory Nights, offering worship concert experiences with free admission to the public.

“We really wanted to do something in Bermuda,” Mr Astwood said. “It had been a while since we had done something like that, since we had hosted our own event. And of course, Last Call likes to tour so we just can’t do one event. So it was like, let's do a few different nights and partner with a few different churches.

“We came up with the name Glory Nights, just because we thought it was a cool way to brand something that’s happening. Glory Nights sounds great; we were talking about the glory of God showing up, and it's over a series of a few nights.

“The intention was just a small night of worship where we can partner with people, and it was a fundraiser to help us boost what we are trying to do now with the label and everything. It was a huge success.

“It was three nights of amazing turnouts – people came to worship, people got deliverance and set free. So it was a huge success in our opinion.”

The pair decided to start their own label as it gave them more control over their work.

“You get to have a creative licence, and there isn’t anyone really that can tell you ‘no’. So whatever God puts on our hearts or on our spirits we are able to put out without anyone saying no.

“On the business side, financially, if you do things right you are able to financially gain more than if you were in a traditional relationship with another label. We just thought it would be a good time for us to step up our game, to take more control of what we do; authentically give the world what God has given us without having any other entity having a say.

“There is literally no middle man, it's the Holy Spirit giving Last Call what we have, and the world will get it right after that.”

With songs already in the making, the plan is to have an album out sometime next year.

“Ever since Covid there have been so many changes, and we’ve learnt so much and gained so much knowledge, that we just want to make sure we do it right,” Mr Astwood said.

Mr Jones added: “The biggest challenge with anything you are trying to do, whether it be a business or a ministry or a label, is the finances. Through our years of being Last Call, being in the industry and being signed, we have been able to rub shoulders and make relationships with a lot of people in the industry.

“So we have the connections and people on hand who are willing and able, but to push anything is the finances. I think that would be the biggest difficulty, having the finances to do what we do.”

He and Mr Astwood are now in “a season of prayer” to ensure that past mistakes are not repeated, Adrian said.

“In the past of Last Call, we have been mishandled, we have been taken advantage of at times. We have learnt from those scenarios, and the position we are taking now is prayer.

“We’re protecting everything we put our hands on, everything we put out to the public, every financial contribution or payment that we do, we pray over it to make sure that it is covered.”

Mr Astwood added: “One other part that is difficult is finding the right people to surround you, finding people with integrity. Because this industry is a business, and people are in it for the money.

“Some people are unfortunately in it for the wrong reasons, and so learning to surround yourself with people that yes, understand that it is a business, but also have the integrity of Christ. That’s what’s the most important thing to us in this new building phase.”

The men are grateful to have a strong support system behind them.

“Our wives are amazing,” said Mr Jones. “They support everything that we do. They give their input in everything we put our hands on. They are always there for us and we couldn’t do what we do without them being by our sides.

“So we want to say thank you to our wives, and to our daughters because they bring us joy, and I’m sure that joy shows wherever we are, wherever we go, and in whatever we say.”
