A group of Government workers were honoured at a reception last week for their contribution to workplace morale.

The Heroes Without a Cape reception offered colleagues a chance to thank 14 public servants that they nominated for their impact on the work environment.

Derrick Binns, the Head of the Civil Service, said: “Our heroes have excelled in creating healthy working relationships and a supportive environment in their respective departments.

“This, ultimately, helps to boost customer satisfaction within the organisation.”

He told the group: “While so many public officers are worthy of recognition, today we are identifying those of you who were nominated by your colleagues.

“We are proud of you as dedicated and professional team members who work hard to create a sense of unity within your departments every day.”

Public servants were asked to nominate colleagues whose actions boosted morale.

Each nomination involved a 300-word description of events that deserved special recognition.

David Burt, the Premier, congratulated the winners and thanked them for their contributions.

He said: “My Government believes hard work and dedication must be rewarded and we will continue to ensure deserving employees are celebrated for providing the best service possible.”
