Women’s Resource Centre develops three-year strategic plan
The Women’s Resource Centre has developed a three-year strategic plan to better serve its clients.
The charity, which provides support services to vulnerable women, has also redesigned its website as part of a rebranding of the organisation.
Over the next three years, the WRC will focus on organisational stability, with a restructured organisation that will bring improved financial, governance and operational competency.
It will also prioritise supporting women in transition, and raise public awareness of the charity’s work.
Juanae Crockwell, who was appointed executive director of the WRC in March, said that the revamp will expand the centre’s reach.
Ms Crockwell said: “In our recent strategic review, it became clear that the Women’s Resource Centre was in need of a brand refresh.
“After almost four decades in service to women in Bermuda, our focus has shifted from exclusively providing crisis intervention services to expanding into support services, access to mental health care, education, advocacy and empowerment.
“This brand refresh reflects what the Women’s Resource Centre is, what we do and who we serve. It is the first step towards building greater public awareness of our organisation and the meaningful services and programmes we offer, which are designed to equip women with the tools, resources and networks needed to build healthy and successful lives.
“We are energised and ready to continue the work that we do and hope that through this awareness campaign our connection to the community will be strengthened, more women will be supported and our network will expand.”
Julia Hawkins, the WRC board chairwoman, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to express how excited we are to share our new strategic plan and fresh look with the Bermudian community.
“We are confident that by continuing to build on our more than 35 years of experience, the WRC will be able to execute its new strategy, leverage its strengths, meet women where they are in life’s journey and continue enhancing the lives of women and families in Bermuda.”
According to a WRC spokeswoman, a new WRC logo is a representation of the organisation’s vision — “a future where all women in Bermuda have access to the resources, opportunities and support they need to lead lives of safety, fulfilment and empowerment”.
The spokeswoman added that the website has been completely revamped, with new functions that will improve efficiency.
She said: “Service users are now able to complete intake forms directly on our website, book counselling sessions, join our mailing list and register for workshops and events. Additionally, donors now have the convenience of making credit or debit card donations online.”
Members of the public are invited to an open house event on September 25 from 12pm to 6pm at the WRC office at Sophia House on Church Street.
