Impaired rider banned from roads and fined $1,500
A man who almost hit a car with the bike he was riding in Hamilton has been disqualified from driving for 18 months.
Ricardo Da Cruz Alves, 47, from Pembroke, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
The court heard that police followed Alves after he almost collided with the car while turning from Burnaby Street on to Front Street on July 23.
Officers stopped him along Pitts Bay Road and took him to Hamilton Police Station.
In addition to being banned, Alves was fined $1,500.
