Kinika Armstrong became the newest member of the Bermuda Bar in a ceremony in the Supreme Court yesterday.

Ms Armstrong, a graduate of Bermuda College and the University of Law, said: "I am honoured to be admitted to the Bermuda Bar, a distinguished community of legal professionals.

“I would like to thank Appleby for the opportunity to learn from some of the best lawyers on the island. I am confident that my training at Appleby has prepared me well for this next chapter in my career.”

Ms Armstrong started her pupillage with Appleby last September and has rotated between multiple posts including private client and trusts, dispute resolution and corporate.

Caljonah Smith, one of Ms Armstrong’s mentors at Appleby, said: “Kinika demonstrated that she has an awareness of client’s needs and concerns, by paying attention to details and showing great communication skills with clients and colleagues.

“She proved that she can research and analyse information to identify the relevant points and articulate them in a clear and concise manner.

“I have no doubt that Kinika’s journey as a legal practitioner will be one of growth and success and that she will be a great asset to the Bermuda Bar.”

Brad Adderley, managing partner, added: “Kinika has been an absolute delight to mentor – she is passionate, enthusiastic and always smiling.

“Her positive energy, thirst to learn and to grow has been wonderful to see. I look forward to mentoring Kinika over the next year as she completes her final year of our trainee programme.

“She’s an incredible team player in our insurance team and broader corporate practice.”
