More than 40 per cent of students at a private school received either A* or A on their I/GCSE exams.

The Bermuda High School for Girls stated that 40.8 per cent of Year 11 students received these grades, or levels 9 to 7. This is well above the 22 per cent earned by all students in Britain.

Congratulating the students on their achievements, Head of School Carol Swainson said: “They have worked incredibly hard alongside our dedicated teaching staff to earn these impressive results.

“We are very proud of what they have accomplished.”

Anne-Camille Haziza was the top student, with three A* grades and six Level 9 grades, as well as a Level 8.
