Minister attends conference on capital initiatives
The Minister of Public Works, Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch, is attending a conference discussing the planning, funding and construction of infrastructure and capital initiatives.
He is among global and regional leaders taking part in the annual Caribbean Infrastructure Forum conference, in Miami, Florida.
Tarik Christopher, acting chief engineer, and Nasir Wade, plant manager at Tynes Bay waste facility, are also at the conference. Mr Wade is due to speak during a panel about waste and water management.
The minister said: “There is much to be gained by sharing common experiences and solutions and Bermuda can gain insight and perspective on tackling some of our current infrastructure challenges.
“Additionally, we will have the opportunity to demonstrate the considerable progress on our waste and water management project.”
William Duguid, the Barbados Senior Minister for Infrastructure and Planning, will deliver the keynote speech at the event, which is considered the high-level forum for Caribbean infrastructure developments.
The conference was taking place yesterday and finishes today.
