PHC banished memories of recent defeats by North Village when thrashing their familiar foes in a Dudley Eve group match at Goose Gosling Field last night.

In an encounter featuring sides that had already secured the first two spots in group A, PHC substitute Enrique Russell struck a brace after Liam Evans had scored an own goal and Kadeem Abraham netted a penalty.

Adio Deshields-Tankard notched up the solitary strike for Village, who finished the game with ten players on the field after substitute Tre Ming was sent off in the second half.

Village made a bright start when Jaizel Smith-Deshields found himself in a one-on- one situation with PHC keeper Quinaceo Hunt who did well to block the ball out for a corner.

In the 23rd minute Village keeper Detre Bell went down to keep out a Tsyi Showers left footed strike and just when his team seemed under pressure, Deshields-Tankard opened the scoring with a brilliantly executed strike for Village in the 25th minute.

PHC got their equaliser on the 37th minute when Evans headed past his own keeper from a Keishon Bean corner kick.

On the stroke of half-time, PHC had the lead after Keishon Bean was brought down in the box by Rai Sampson and referee Stefan Maybury pointed to the spot. Abraham had no problems converting from 12 yards, as his powerful strike went past Bell.

PHC continued their dominance in the second half and got their third with 20 minutes to go after Ming brought down Russell outside the box and was shown a straight red card.

Russell dusted himself off to score a superb goal and he completed the scoring nine minutes before the end when he benefited from an excellent move by his team.

Russell could have had his hat-trick had he been sharp in front of goal when put through by T’syi Showers a few minutes before the end.
