In the bag: company donates lunches to students in need
A professional services firm is making sure that children will not have to get through the school day on empty stomachs.
Staff at Marsh McLennan recently donated packed lunches and school uniforms to CedarBridge Academy students in need.
Employees made financial donations and also worked through their own lunch breaks packing meals and clothing into bags.
Christopher Reeves, the chief executive of Bowring Marsh, said staff also spent time helping students with interview skills, resume building and scholarship preparations.
He said: “Marsh McLennan believes in bringing our colleagues and communities together.
“Our collaboration with CBA isn't just a donation but a commitment to the future leaders of our community. Every child deserves a fair start and we're proud to play a role in ensuring they get that at CBA."
Angelita Outerbridge, a student services programme co-ordinator at the school, expressed her gratitude for the company’s “unwavering support”.
She said: "We are extremely grateful to Marsh McLennan for their generous donation. The uniform items contributed significantly to our yearly uniform drive and our parents were extremely appreciative of the support.
“We look forward to continuing our community partnership with Marsh McLennan."
