Florida touchdown completes BermudAir's routes to US
BermudAir, the independent boutique airline launched this month, now has all its routes active as the inaugural flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, touched down.
The flight took off on Friday afternoon and was welcomed to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with the traditional water cannon salute.
The route, with a 3.50pm take-off from Bermuda and returning at 10.20pm, will operate six times a week.
In addition to providing a direct flight to Fort Lauderdale, the service provides additional access to Miami, Orlando and surrounding areas.
This new route adds to BermudAir’s daily flights to Boston, Massachusetts and Westchester, New York.
The airline has 18 employed in its cabin crew, including six Bermudian staff.
Adam Scott, the airline’s founder and chief executive, announced: “We’re excited to celebrate another significant milestone in BermudAir’s journey.
“I want to take this time to recognise and thank our entire team for making this huge achievement possible. It's taken an incredible amount of work, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we've done together.”
He added: “I also want to thank everyone who has already travelled with BermudAir for choosing us, and for the warmth and support we’ve received from the community.
“We’re able to offer year-round service on all three of our routes now, and we’re very happy to be serving Bermuda.”
