What was so ‘special’ about that House session?

Dear Sir,

In any election period, the incumbent government thinks up some crazy diversion to bolster its own importance. Normally it is the old “bullet in the mail” hoax. This time we are treated to some Russian conspiracy theory that the Premier heard about, obviously second-hand.

So he gets rapped on the knuckles and is reminded to stay in his own lane by Her Excellency. Meanwhile, we are $7 billion plus in debt, still with no clear, workable plan for the economy and the Government’s constant inability to close a deal.

What was the reason for the special sitting of the House? Classic cars, once a year? I am surmising that it could not have been that important, as the Premier left Walter Roban in charge and Wayne Furbert to lead the important legislation. Not to be outdone Jason Hayward has got his own conspiracy on gratuities.

I guess the food (and the company) is better wherever the Premier went on his latest absence from the island. The only comfort we get is that no data was harmed during the alleged hacking.

We could have saved the hackers some trouble if they just asked any Bermudian first — the Government has no useful data to hack! Of course, other than “‘no response was forthcoming from the government spokesman/woman”.
